Outdoor RoseA Poem by KristinThis poem explains the darkness we all have inside us and how beauty unveils it.A flower withering by a hard stone The rain falls but its too weak to drink Wet and cold but not alone It’s roots connected to another’s feet Leaves blown away freely from storm’s end Unraveling its naked thorns Quickly the dim setting has changed Leaving the other flowers quick to scorn The sun shines brighter The flower soaks up the rays Bright and beautiful leaning against the stone The others decided they did not want to play The guard walks and spots the beautiful rose It’s beauty so striking his hand reaches out His finger pricked he lets go The rose falls on the dirty pebble route Dark clouds approach rain falls down The graveyard is like an overflowing sink The rose torn from its roots thirsty And now it will never be able to drink © 2017 KristinFeatured Review
