For years I've always known
that you would be there

My hearts claimed by another
and of that you do not care
because whom ever I chose to love
you will receive with a death stare

I always knew the truth
and for that I never told
the feelings that you had for me
I always knew your heart I would hold

For that I love you
just as you do for me
for that I know it's true
more than us we'll never be

Because I know I love another
and you are so strong
I love you for every single reason
and I know what we have is not wrong

So in the event my heart is broken
and I feel like I have a soul to mend
I know you will always be there
As a wonderful, true best friend.
