Home Everlasting

Home Everlasting

A single red leaf
Fallen from the arm
of a life that passes
come birth of Autumn

A single road
Dirt off the highway
the gentle covered ground
of a place long forgotten

She turns the wheel
traveling to the place
of her world of the past
where memories everlast

small old cabins
broken and lost
she closes her eyes
to drown in her thoughts

short green grass
tall oak trees
none of them missing
one single green leaf

green is the life
of her old camp stirring
tall are the trees
their arms merely living

the gentle blue creek
calling her name
the young girl runs
to follow it's game

children surround
the small camping ground
as the life once young
grows in this far home

the creek gently dwindles
as the leaves begin to fall
the children have grown
their memories now stall

what once was a home
now has fallen
lost in her memory
of a love everlasting
