5- Zenith and NadirA Chapter by Kristan A. MohammedA brief comparison of the distance between the personas and that between the Zenith, which is the highest point atop the celestial sphere, and the Nadir, which is the direction in which gravity pulls. She floats above the skies. Such duty for the keeper of this ever-shifting sphere, The constellations emphasize her care.
He suffers deep below. Doomed to the burden of pulling this flat earth in place, Gravity marks the frown upon his earthen face.
The altitude acts vastly as a boundary. Entertained by conspiracy to keep them apart, Laughing as it breaks their non-existent hearts.
She stretches from beyond. Transcendent of the laws of night and day, Pushing towards him but only pushing the Nadir away.
He tunnels out the ground. Delving through the deepest lows to see her face, But will never bask in the Zenith’s grace.
Abominate the structure. Grant us this rapture. Abandon the celestial lights. Never neglect the eternal fight.
Looking up shifts the balance, Earthquakes upon mankind. Keen to negate all resistance. Though we never got the chance to glimpse, You mean the world to me. I’d do what no one would dare, Tear down the sphere, To the point of no repair.
If only it were possible. © 2017 Kristan A. MohammedAuthor's Note
