For Camelot

For Camelot

A Poem by Kristan A. Mohammed
"

Inspiration drawn for King Arthur. Even though we are not in medieval times, We should still have honor.

"

Once…

Too long ago,

Words forged in ancient stone,

Wrote of a brave knight.

Worthy of a quest,

Of a weapon.

The sword it holds.

Such are the feats of nobility,

Holding ties to the heart.

Bold and bound by idolatry,

But broken apart.

 Even the bravest of hearts,

Live in fear.

I beseech thee,

That I may drink from your cup,

And be forgiven my trespasses.

As I bare your coat of arms.

Insignia of my faith.

Pray for me,

That I may die in service.

And pray for me,

As I walk upon bladed grass.

For one day,

I shall be king.

Of an unbroken kingdom.

And sit at a table,

With no head.

Every knight just,

As precious as the other.

And what of my queen?

Maiden of my hand.

To share my heart,

And my private chamber.

To bear an heir…

…A legacy.

For I have fulfilled my destiny.

Where truth has reigned triumphant.

Now I rest in glory.

In Avalon.
