![]() Lavender LipsA Poem by Kristan A. Mohammed![]() We always lose those whom we wish to keep the most.![]() Don’t leave me here. I’ve fallen short. Broken, battered, Bruised and beaten. But lie to me. Tell me I’ll survive. Without you.
Lavender lips hydrate mine, Poisoning me with calm. Swords of solace release me. Like the taste of sweet nicotine.
All the riddles left unsolved, All the answers lost. Closed is the road, I must journey through. Dry is the river, Leading to you.
How easy can it be? For you to forget me. Make me another memory, Like a leaf without a tree.
I look into your eyes, And see what you saw in me. Look into my eyes, What do you see?
I’ve lost it all, I’ve sunken low. I’ve hit rock bottom, So long ago. Lost my home to run to, The only one who… I cannot lose. No. Not you. Please not you. I cannot lose you too.
And I don’t miss you. No…I don’t. No. I don’t. But oh how I do. © 2015 Kristan A. MohammedAuthor's Note
