Heart of the Hero

Heart of the Hero

A Poem by Kristan A. Mohammed
"

There's something special about sacrificing yourself for the happiness of others.

"

A Hero on Hiatus

Once upon a deadly rhyme,

A hero was called from hibernation.

To save you from yourself.

‘Cause Life is but a story,

And every good story needs tragedy.

But though they always win,

No hero is without luck.

Sacrifice

A small note left.

Written with love, fear, hate, confusion.

Every emotion ever named.

An untimely retirement.

Though, for the first time,

Out of selflessness.

Sacrificium

The Final Attempt

How can you pray?

If you don’t believe.

After a lifetime of trying,

To save a few smiles,

A last resort is called.

For painful, permanence.

Another life lost.

Lost in the name of love.

Another soldier fallen.

Past aeons of failure.

One last try.

The Chosen One

Behind a mask of artificial courage,

Hides a lonely destiny.

That steals joys from those you save.

But the truth still remains.

There’s a hole in the world.

But why should you fight at all?

Why not shed the cape.

Stargaze into villainy.

For no one will save you.

In your darkest days.

Why fight for those,

Who fight against our vision?

Because it is the right thing to do? No

Because it is the easy thing to do? No

Because if I don’t do it,

No one will.

aww, ur welcome :) and u deserve it so yah! :D
I like the last one best. I mean, I can't really talk perfection in poetry. I suck at it. But, I like it I think that last one has a touch of wisdom tagged into it. I also like the one you called: The Final Attempt. It seemed to have a few hints of poetry into it.

Thnks a lot. I will definately be reading your work soon.
I like this. It's incredibly relatable. It's a bloodydamn thankless job, too. This appears to be a dedication to the unsung heroes of society. The ones who sacrifice, internally as well as externally, to see others smile. To be appreciated. To be loved. That's all we really want in return. We go out of our way to show affection, dedication and love to those we hold dear, but we end up feeling unappreciated in the end... Yet we'd do it again in an instant. We always will.
