A Sight For Sore EyesA Poem by Kristan A. MohammedFrom the perspective of a blind man telling his love that he will never forget her face.Through the darkness, Shines a ray of light. As small as madness, But thrice as bright. When the rose has died, And taken with her the light, Your smile in mind, To see it I'll fight. Far across the oceans of veiled sight, Winter winds blow, With persistent might, Forcing the light to go. How can beauty be lost in the eyes of a blind beholder? A battalion of frozen memories. Strong like a boulder, Of silent symphonies. Destroyed at its source, I'll never forget, In silent moments, no remorse, No regret. Hold on tight, To what once was. How can it be right? Suffering a bee to buzz. Believing in seeing, Sealing our fate. Hopelessly dreaming, That it's not too late. In the everlasting eyes of the mind, Words unspoken but true, That if I go blind, I'll still see you.
