AladdinA Poem by Kristan A. MohammedWhat it feels like to want something you can never have,I'm not good, enough, Born to be abandoned. I'm sorry, its tough, I live in his reflection. The fool that I must be, Dreaming and believing. That someday I could be, The only one you see. The heart is a fool, it falls and it breaks. Trying twice as hard, to be half of what it takes. I wish I could be like him, So I could be with you. Wish I could look like him, In everything I do. I wish for you. He is everything that I will never be, He has everything that I will never see. So my deadly sin is envy. My jealousy. I like her, she laughs, She waves in my direction. One moment, I had, There might be a connection. Then I look back to see, He's standing behind me. It was now clear to see, All she sees is right through me. A bird is driven by its wings, A man is driven by his heart. No one is more deaf, Than he who WILL not hear. None are more willingly enslaved, Than those who don't believe that they can be free. Sorry for all the things that could not be. Forgive me for all the things I could not be. But the heart is a fool, it falls and it breaks. Trying twice as hard, to be half of what it takes.
