On a trip to the music store one day a girl got into a car accident so I wrote this song about what happened. The hidden message is: Music Den parking lot! I hope you like it! <3
Heaven Didn't Need Another Angel
The turn came too quickly, While you were flying by, Before you knew it, Your whole life, Flashed before your eyes, You tried to hit the breaks, But your car rolled anyway, Then the world turned black, And you couldn't turn back, When you saw the light
You should be glad that, Heaven didn't need another angel, He didn't take your life, To save you from this cruel world, But you should be thanking God, That you are alive, Cuz heaven didn't need another angel
You were upside down, Hanging from a seat belt, Tried to find the door, But instead found a hand, Pulling you towards the day light, Crowds had formed, And you weren't sure, How you'd made it out
You should be glad that, Heaven didn't need another angel, He didn't take your life, To save you from this cruel world, But you should be thanking God, That you are alive, Cuz heaven didn't need another angel
Well people may accuse, And you will refuse, Because you know, What's right and wrong, But if there is, One thing you're certain, That day you saw God's face
You should be glad that, Heaven didn't need another angel, He didn't take your life, To save you from this cruel world, But you should be thanking God, That you are alive, Cuz heaven didn't need another angel, He didn't take your life, To save you from this cruel world, But you should be thanking God, That you are alive, Cuz heaven didn't need another angel <3
Over the summer I went to a store called the Music Den and we were looking through the books and suddenly everyone started running outside. My mom and I followed to see what was going on and we saw a van flipped upside down in a ditch. The store had one of those parking lots where it was right off the highway and there was two separate entrances with the middle having like a ditch with the store sign in it. One of the workers said that it happened before too, because people go too fast on the highway and then missed the turn. They got the girl out safely and we were talking to her. She was perfectly fine other than a few scrapes on her hands and arms. Yet, instead of thanking God she was alive, she was upset because she thought her parents were going to kill her for wrecking her car. She kept talking about how she just wish she died because she didn't want her parents to hurt her. So I don't know if she had a messed up life or if she was just over reacting but either way I couldn't help feel sorry for her :( And I know that today the shooting in Connecticut occurred and it is such a terrible tragity. Those children didn't need to become angels today but unfortunately the did. So God bless them <3

This poem is amazing. I like how you took an experience from something you seen happen and turned it into this great poem. Yes, she should have thanked God for not taking her instead of her parents getting mad. Maybe her parents are mean? Anyways thanks for sharing!

Wow really exciting things happen to you Krista! You always find such important things to talk about in your poems and a car flipping is really interesting to read about. It felt like this story was really descriptive and emotive.
