Singin' 'Bout Mayberry

Singin' 'Bout Mayberry

A Poem by Krista Weiss
"

A few years ago I went on a cruise and this is about something that happened while I was there! :) I hope you like it! The hidden message is: Snorkeling in St. Thomas <3

"
Singin' 'Bout Mayberry
Such a wonderful day,
The sun's shinin',
And the breeze is blowin',
Laughin' with my family,
Talkin' 'bout nothin',
But when your eyes met mine,
I knew this day could really be somethin',
When I sat down,
You sat next to me,
Then on came the radio,
And I couldn't help but start singin'
Sittin' on the boat,
Singin' my favorite song,
Haven't heard it in so long,
So I'm singin' at the top of my lungs,
Singin' 'bout Mayberry,
On that hot summer day,
Well baby you don't know me,
And I don't know you,
But I think I'm fallin' for you
When we got off,
We swam around,
And I kept lookin' 'round,
To make sure you were near me,
Make sure you were in sight,
And when I saw you climb back up,
I followed you back to the boat,
And on the ride home,
We started singin' again
Sittin' on the boat,
Singin' my favorite song,
Haven't heard it in so long,
So I'm singin' at the top of my lungs,
Singin' 'bout Mayberry,
On that hot summer day,
Well baby you don't know me,
And I don't know you,
But I think I'm fallin' for you
When we got off,
I never saw you again,
But baby I wanna see you again,
I can't stop seein' you sittin' there,
That blonde haired blue eyed boy,
That I can't stop picturin',
And when I hear that song,
I see you smillin' back at me,
While we were singin' 'bout Mayberry
Sittin' on the boat,
Singin' my favorite song,
Haven't heard it in so long,
So I'm singin' at the top of my lungs,
Singin' 'bout Mayberry,
On that hot summer day
Sittin' on the boat,
Singin' my favorite song,
Haven't heard it in so long,
So I'm singin' at the top of my lungs,
Singin' 'bout Mayberry,
On that hot summer day,
Well baby you don't know me,
And I don't know you,
But I think I'm fallin' for you
While we were singin' 'bout Mayberry <3

In the summer of 2010 my grandpa took my whole family on a cruise to the Caribbean. It was so much fun and we got to stop at Burmuda, St. Maartin, St. Thomas, and Puerto Rico. It was a really great trip but my favorite place was St. Thomas. When we were there we went snorkeling on some sort of Pirate Catamaran thing. It was really cute! We got little pirate tattoos and shirts and stuff :) But when we got on I noticed there was a really cute guy there and he kept like checking me out and stuff :P Our families were sitting near each other so we ended up sitting face to face. It wasn't that awkward and I just kind of chilled and talked to my family. And the boat had a little radio on it so they were playing music. All of a sudden the song Mayberry by Rascal Flatts came on and I hadn't heard the song in forever so I got really excited and started singing along. I guy he liked my singing cuz he was like watching me sing and was smiling and stuff :P hahaha it was kind cute :P So then eventually we got to the spot and we jumped off and started snorkeling and it was really cool! After probably like an hour we all started getting back onto the boat and we sat in our old spots. Then on the ride home the same song came on again so naturally I started singing along! After that I never saw him again and now whenever I hear that song it makes me think of that day :)
