I wrote this song a while ago when my ex told my crush I liked him. I hope you like it! The hidden message is: I wanted to tell you on my own <3

This Way

I thought I could trust him,

With my one major secret,

My secret of loving you,

But baby I didn't know,

That he was putting on a show,

I thought I could trust him,

But I guess that I was wrong

I'm sorry you had to find out this way,

But he promised me,

That he would never say,

My secret that I shared with him that day,

But please don't turn away from me,

And please don't block me out baby,

Cuz I've loved you for too long,

For it to end this way

He kept my secret,

For just over a year,

But today was the last day,

That your mind was clear,

Cuz you knew I loved you in the past,

But you thought it went away fast,

But he wanted to prove to you,

That you were wrong

Author's Note

So like last year in March before I got my first boyfriend, I told him who I liked. We really started off as friends and we talked and stuff but then eventually we started going out. He was a jerk, and after we broke up he would always "joke" that he was going to tell my crush that I liked him. So then this year, on his birthday, I guess he decided that would be his birthday present from me! During one of his classes, he decided to tell him all about how much I "loved" him. Soon a ton of people knew, including his girlfriend, who already hated me. So that was fun. Anyways, that's why I wrote the song and everything sooo I hope you like it!! Being a secret admirer is a hard role to play. When the object of your affection is in the arms of another. That's a fine line to walk on. Great work. Waiting in the wings for it to fall apart though. That's the real question. How long would anyone be willing to wait for that to happen. Great poem. :)
