Author's Note

I pretty much wrote this about trying to find the bad things in the people you care about. I know everyone says that everyone has flaws and mistakes, and to have a good relationship you need to pay less attention to their mistakes and pay more attention to their good qualities. However, sometimes when you're in a relationship, you're so blinded by all of the things you love about that person, that you completely ignore what's wrong about them. A lot of times, people will go through so many hurtful things, like being abused or cheated on, but they don't realize how toxic their relationship is because they can only focus on the good things about the person. I've never been abused or cheated on, or seriously hurt for that matter, but I never want to be in any of those situations. My advice in this song, is that before you fall for someone, make sure that know what's bad about them. Like if you've heard that person has cheated on their girlfriends or boyfriends in the past, be prepared for the worst. Be prepared to be cheated on and be prepared to get heartbroken. Because if you don't keep things like that in mind, if something like that actually does happen, it won't be a shock. I mean it will be shocking, but you can say to yourself, "Why did I even go out with this idiot. He/She is a jerk!", instead of sitting around crying and thinking about what you still love about them. If you get out of a bad relationship, you need to realize how bad it was, not think about everything that went well during it. When I got out of a bad relationship, I was blinded. I couldn't see what was wrong, and why he broke up with me. I sat around crying, wondering what was wrong with me that made him want to leave me. But after a while, I came to the realization, that he was a jerk. He didn't care about my feels, or wondered if I was crying when he sent me the text message saying that it was over. He was only with me, because he knew I liked him, and he wanted to say he had a girlfriend. But once I saw this, I was so glad that he broke up with me. That entire time I was dating an absolute jerk and never believed when people would say that he doesn't deserve me. But that day when I realized everything wrong about him, I new it was for the best. I wasn't sad or mad that he broke up with me, I was happy. Because if he didn't break up with me, I don't think I would've ever realized his true personality. So I doubt your reading this, but if you are (I won't say your name because if you read this you will know it's about you), I just want to say thank you. Thanks for breaking up with me twice, I needed that to realize that you were no good for me. And you gave me so much material for so many songs! So thank you! :)

I agree with this song 100% :) It's true that sometimes we focus too much on what made us smile rather then what broke our heart because we think or want to believe they won't hurt us again. Lately, I've come to learn that on my own but the problem with that is you can never fully trust them again and that can put the relationship in jeopardy. So it's good to accept the bad points but not to forget that they're there, What you don't know can hurt you O_o

Krista, truly love this song! It really touched my heart as I read every stanza. I especially liked reading the chorus, it's catchy! I have to say a lot can relate to this piece including myself. I've been through this situation atleast once or twice. My parents have warned me about certain guys but yet I went ahead and went after them. Now, I wish I would've listened to them more than anything. Those guys are so tempting by their charm and looks that they turn me against my own parents sometimes. I love how all of your songs are based on personal experience, that's why me and you are good friends since I write poems like that! :) Well done, indeed.
