humA Poem by Krista Laraine
There is a feeling that grows
beneath my skin, between the hips, above my pelvic bone. It flutters and burns- a thousand bumblebees have taken up residence, there inside of me. In love with it, I hate you. that knowing look, those eyes that study me, they never change you'll never leave, our souls entwined eternally. For now I have your reluctant kiss, a home in your arms, at long last forgiveness. I will keep the burn, the scar, last laugh in your throat gone silent and sad- the distance, far, yet only for this I am glad. © 2008 Krista LaraineReviews
