hum

hum

A Poem by Krista Laraine

There is a feeling that grows
beneath my skin,
between the hips,
above my pelvic bone.

It flutters and burns-
a thousand bumblebees
have taken up residence,
there inside of me.

In love with it,
I hate you.
that knowing look,
those eyes that study me,
they never change
you'll never leave,
our souls entwined
eternally.

For now I have
your reluctant kiss,
a home in your arms,
at long last forgiveness.

I will keep
the burn, the scar,
last laugh in your throat
gone silent and sad-
the distance, far,
yet only for this
I am glad.

This one was a little.... I don't know kind of off in rhythm but really that worked i its favor it think, the emotion are a little confused in it and so the rhythm being confused kindof emphasises that all in al a really great read. I had to read it twice to really come to the conclusions I did though and that could be a bad thing for the responce to this poem. Some people wont read it through a second time.

Anyway good write.

There were a few things taht I didn't like, just the genral way you said things, but not what you said. I did REALLY like this piece. The images are well crafted, but the feel and flow of the poem seems a little off... still, a great read. Best of luck, and remember, no one needs to like your work but you :)
