You Save Me

You Save Me

A Poem by Kriss_Rose
"

Love saved me

"
This black water surrounding me.
Leaking in to me.
its overwhelming its more than I can bare.
I look up and see you.
You call out to me.
I am not too far.
I feel you take me by my hands and pull me out.
Shaking, dripping.
You hold me, comfort me and bring me back to myself.
It's love. It's You.
I return to you with sunlight upon my face.
You hold me close tenderly.
Its You Its Me. Its what I need.

There is so many ways one can take this poem and interpret it; that's what makes it beautiful. I like the imagery of pulling someone out of dark waters, but not deep ones ("I am not too far away") even if it feels like we're overwhelmed by it. It doesn't take too much water to feel like one's drowning and so this poem reflects that truth so well. Your short sentences in certain lines also makes it more poignant because the focus is on "It's love. It's You. It's You It's Me." Capitalizing these pronouns also has great meaning. This could be a religious/spiritual poem about a Savior rather than a lover. I love the line about returning with sunlight upon my face. That is a beautiful image. Thank you for writing and sharing this great poem!

I appreciate the lovely relationship that prevails between you and your partner.
This is really heartening when the partner comes forward and comforts one's partner.
