Orphan

Orphan

A Poem by Krisna Chatelain

He has been abandoned
This child walking down the road
He has been crying
For as long as I’ve known

He has been hungry
For the past 3 weeks
Because his parents in a hurry
Left him in the streets

This child has been knocking
To every single door
And for some reasons kept thinking
That someone will show
Maybe some compassion
To this little poor
But neither one nor the other
Gave a shelter to the miserable

This lonely child has been roaming the town
In search of someplace to rest
This child has been dreaming
Of just a piece of bread
This child has been struggling
To keep a high head

This child began than stealing
So he could not die starving
This child began killing
So he could keep living

This abandoned child
Was once a fountain of joy
Who simply wanted to be normal
Until the day he became an orphan
Who is now known as a wanted criminal.
