The Knight

The Knight

A Story by Krishna Handa

Once upon a time in a prestigious court there was a sepoy waiting for knighthood. That day he had saved thousands of civilians from a mutiny that didnt break because he made the right choices at the right time. Everyone was looking up to him and praised him on his way to the king's court. He had then came to one knee bowed his head and was about to achieve the prestige and honor he deserved. Just then a guard came in and delivered the news.
"Queen's necklace has been found"
"Who is responsible for this henious act?" The king roared, "in my kingdom. Send the culprit to my court right away and justice shall prevail"
"It was the knight"
"What knight?"
"The knight-to-be your highness"
"But i didnt do it"
"Take him away to the solitary confinement" guards grabbed the victorious hero by arms, " this man shall have his head beheaded at noon tomorrow."
That's life people. One second he was going to be awarded knighthood and next he was ordered confinement in jail and death sentence. He might have been a theif but that day an enemy had planted a stolen piece of jewellery in his house and that killed him.
We can do nothing but live to the fullest till we can. Who knows when you can't protect yourself anymore. So live, rejoice and care for the people that mean most.

That was an unexpected message... And, a sorrowful ending. No one deserves to be deceived like that. But, you're right. Life will do that and we must live on, even if it hurts. We only have a single life. We may as well live it right. Nice job!
