The History of Destiny

A Poem by Krishna

a deliberate attempt at narriating univeral human laws of experience in time.

Throughout the course of generations
Memories are invented, personalities tabulated
From the darkness of an unremembered past,
The myth of selves are made and re-made,
An interview of darkness, an interval of shadow
From some random family or origin,
We emerge, survivors of an unruffled fate
Often worn down by ideals and their growing pains,
The starry hours divide our spirits from our bodies,
Separating hearts from their mystically dim souls,
In a clamour for security and so-called maturity,
We shall never know who forged the words
That so eloquently and shamefully imprint
Our stories into our minds, with fables and legends,
Constructed from the bare-feet of perception,
Based upon fears that we no longer remember,
Subconscious, self-repeating and steeped in irony,
Throughout the course of generations
Submitting to the fashion of the years,
An inexhaustible vertigo, charging eternity
With our loss of faculties, intelligence and power,
Our eyes become as fragile as our blindness
Of awareness and attitudes, our
Psyches follow us into time’s martyred oblivion;
Yet this remains the nature of destiny,
Formidable as stricken with some ancient wine.

Not pessimistic, no. Your poetry speaks to me on such a deep level. You take deep thoughts and philosophies and wrap them in the creativity of your words and this never fails to inspire me... to make me think.

And this - your latest - has given me pause. I'll be back to reread - to extract more from the lines of your writing.

Bravo!

I personally liked this piece. Not a lot of people take the time to contemplate these ideas and questions. I personally take every day to think out the mysteries of the world and life, as well as the universe....I do not personally see this as pessimistic due to the fact that these are universal questions, wheter they have a pessimistic undertone or not. I really like the fact that you drew out these questions in a thought provoking, yet answerable manner. Great job, I encouragr you to keep this style of writing going. I look forward to more of this kind. Great Job!
