Forgive Me

Forgive Me

A Poem by Kris
"

What do you do when life doesn't give you lemons?

"

When I feel a little low, I get a little high

It makes my troubles disappear

Like a child running away from fear

But when I come crashing back down I can’t help but cry

For the world collapses in from the sky

I drown my sorrow in an endless bottle of beer

I don’t know anywhere else but here

I’ve learned to enjoy life, but sometimes I want to die

Because the woes that accompany life shatter my reality

Happiness retreats faster than a defeated battalion

And I’m lost in oblivion, left to mend wounds that do not heal

The path I’ve chosen is slowly leading to my self-caused fatality

I pray the suffering will end while I cradle my late mother’s medallion

But I succumb to the cold and I lose the ability to feel

Death overcomes my desire to live

I just hope god will be able to forgive

Still getting a feel for writing in general. Any criticism would be much appreciated.
