The day the sand dunes withdrew

The day the sand dunes withdrew

A Poem by Christie Moses
"

There is a space that is never filled...a void where all the darkness flows. That is where alone resides.

"

it is

dense as fog at two a.m. in fresno

and

arid as parched tongues in sahara

here

within this myriad miles of void

empty sand stitched patchwork

like honeyed fingers of

such an arresting nothing

solitude with his southern diction

(wily one

is ever present in this sting of tumbleweeds

he kicks his seductive heels up

pulling his hat brim low

takes a rough hand in

drawing long and slow on his fine cigar

smoke swirls seep this bluegrass wind

his stern lips of retribution pursed

the smooth croon from his acoustic

drifts like heavy nostalgia

breaking her like cracked up roots

onto the sweat stained earth

gathering to the suffering

 of forgotten....

seldom in rememberance of....

and eyes that never will forget

here is the realm she travels

like regret and naked feet

to his magnetic and vagrant beat

Driving south from Fresno offers some of the best desert riding imaginable; the road is flat, the wind sometimes objectionable, the sand soul-stealing, and the sunshine incredibly arrogant...through it all man is it fun...!!

Your poetic insight is amazing...!

Excellent...!

Getting "IT" wrong can be a way of life... but admiting to it - well, yeppers.

I sure found a tangent to flow with and a totally different perspective that was beyond the ballpark - neither fair nor foul ball. No defense BUT I swear the mind wasn't closed even if the eyes aparently were.

Take care,
Chris

It's poetry, but a story....beautiful. The imagery is strong...an old western come to life.

This has such power and a beta of its own, i can almost see her like a flame, dancing to his rhythm in his field.

yeah I really dig your stuff - you write on topics that often (usually even) turn out horribly cliched but somehow you dance around that trap and they turn out interesting, unusual and a joy to read
