My Face Turns RedA Poem by Kane HagwoodPlease never think you’re another To be thrown aside without a care This isn’t some one and done No fanciful fling of an affair
You must have come from the cloudy place The heavens are short a friend Although I expected this journey alone Here you are mysterious winged friend
With a scent too distinct to describe I’ll do my best to be good Yet there’s this look behind your eye Telling me that I should
My face turns red From all that dances in your mind Though not a single ounce of judgment Not a bit from me you will find
In fact I grin knowing how deep this goes Wondering how much you would want Or is this lust at its finest hour That is the culprit of this taunt
But the way I sense your spirit hold mine There is no way to lie about that feeling Which one of us is a fool Which one of us is concealing
Should I be ashamed to wonder If our lips ever had a place Or would this behavior disturb you And turn me into a disgrace
Yet back and forth in my mind you are Perhaps in more ways than one Imagines of spreading your legs Begging me for some fun
To kiss your neck Running hands down your spine While never once Demanding that you be mine
To dampen such a spirit With the mileage I’ve had to walk You’ll never know How much it means to hear you talk
If you could be alright with my ways of life To allow me to hold you tight To know your body as I know your soul For our connection to reach all its might
I’m better than begging for you to say the same For neither one of our feelings are tame
