The Four Footstep Ploy

The Four Footstep Ploy

A Poem by Kane Hagwood
"

A poem about letting the dice fall where they may, no matter how much we wish to help those who refuse to help themselves.

The Four Footstep Ploy

Written By Kane Hagwood

Must I play the fool?

Must we drag over another stool?

To tell of trivial times that trod along?

Like some never ending song?

Where we never got along?

A tale where NO ONE did ANYTHING wrong?

Allow this third eye to roll

For the many lost and weary souls

Who claim to know the very way

So long as you offer them metals to rule the day

So I dance along as the fool you perceived

Unaware of depth I was once bereaved

For your lost and shallow soul you flaunt before others

Despite the pain you have brought to your own fathers and mothers

Four footsteps to a dance hardly forgot.

As in my mind I scheme and plot

Of ways to better all our gifts we manage

Keeping you distracted so you can’t cause more damage

But now!

Oh MY!

Watch as I turn my back!

To not see your attempt to fly.

The four footstep ploy has been laid to rest

No longer interested in silly jest

But if I must so I may

Doesn’t mean I must witness you rue the day

This dance is now for me.

To help who it may

Stumble along this fools path

For blessings in unseen way

Very nice Kane!
My Interpretations:
Anger, dismay, weariness, pity the craven critic, a never-would-I-actually-do-this jovial plan for revenge, confidence in yourself, and great humor

It puts to verse the sentiments in your Note.

The poem is lovely. The first, third and second last stanzas are my personal favourites. Self help is the greatest help which one can do, which many rather to stay dependent on others than helping themselves and let just things happen.

And thank YOU for the review! It means a lot when I hear people enjoyed my work!
I think the opening stanza is strong, the second good, and then it gets s little lost.

To me it should be a poem about how you were or were not the fool.
