The walk away

The walk away

A Poem by M.a. Benjamin

“I’ve never felt this bad” you sob

yet your eyes tell a different tale

A notion that trust lost all value

As I turn my back from that banshee wail

The lock is turned

a mind was made

a bag is packed

my feelings fade

all that's left is the lonely walk

and the cadaver of guilt

that wishes I stayed

cadaver of guilt

Ah when guilt dies you are truly out of it.
Better that you did not stay at that point .. well perhaps ..when the wail can be discribed as a " Banshee Wail". We have to conclude the walk away was indeed the right thing to do.

Once the mind is made up you should stick to it.

Nicely written I understand the sentiment.

This sums up what everyone should know about love: It always ends badly.
