When

When

A Poem by M.a. Benjamin
"

I found this one from way back when (about 3 years ago). I figured i'd post it.

"

When oh when shall our paths cross again

Our fondness left unspoken or unwritten

Consistantly asking such a question until then

to a blind pair of eyes

and a heart so smitten

Will there never be that day

that your road will cross my way

Our ambitions left rust-caked and undriven

That sadness we'll send

to our feelings my friend

will remain unrecieved and ungiven

really enjoyed this, it resonates with a sort of beautiful and adult melancholy and the last line really brought it home, well done...

Dissapointment, but in the end silent acceptance, great write:)

Beautifully expressed.."ambitions left rust-caked and undriven" ..How does it get to that? The unspoken words the unheard answers...Must they remain turning in the vortex of out minds forever?

Poignant, the words our ambitions left rust -caked ..is quite good.

Quite sad and wistful, I guess, but it comes across as a form of acceptance and a realization that life must go on. No self-pity here, I would say. Very good write.

i can hear this as a spoken piece...enjoyed how the first step from this piece was the title...but that's just me...i enjoy brevity...when less is made more by the gentle ambiance of its solitude...rusted joints may just as well be melted down for what they're worth

Last line took me like a landslide. Will remain unreceived and ungiven, unrequited love in motion or love from a distance.
