For youA Poem by M.a. BenjaminSomething I wrote for my wife
It's a habit of the brain to see you in such a light
To need you on the hour of every morning, noon and night You'll be a star in the nighttime sea Shining blinding bright for only me Reaching to get closer than physically believed Flying higher than any had dared to perceive To pull this skin around me and shield me from the day Until your fingers rise up and rip the sun away And now we touch the ground and settle in for a while To share secrets and dreams And make each other smile © 2016 M.a.
