And then the rain came

And then the rain came

A Poem by M.a. Benjamin

They tell you it'll be okay
But who are they?
You pace and wonder why it has to be this way
No-one has an answer
But consolation is as thick as honey
Anxiety has cracked you like an egg
Your brain is scrambled up
Retracing your footsteps
you've led yourself to a foreign place
where every print stains the filthy ground.....

And then the rain came to wash it all away
The anger, the pain, and all the dismay
and when your mind runs clear as water
not a single thought astray
You can take your breaths and baggage
and prepare for another day

I love how you explained pain and confusion, and just the simplest of rain to wash away the troubles. And just the thought of tomorrow being a new day. Very lovely!

You take The pain from the words
and change them into a beautiful painting
and Pour the rain over it all and wash it away.

Such Raw Emotions and powerful words.

Thank you for sharing this powerful piece.

I loved these stanza's lines.

And then the rain came to wash it all away

The anger, the pain, and all the dismay

and when your mind runs clear as water

not a single thought astray

You can take your breaths and baggage

and prepare for another day

"And then the rain came to wash it all away
The anger, the pain, and all the dismay
and when your mind runs clear as water"

I love this part of the poem (though the entire thing is quite good). It's like imagining that the rain and the mental tears have become one in pain. But like the raining sky, it eventually breaks open for the sun again and so will happiness break into life (that is seemingly full of pain).
I loved this poem. It was very emotional. Kudos :)

this is a beautiful piece and really helps people understand what it means to let the rain wash it away.

i can relate to this a lot and it is a really serene and well formed and worded piece. it makes me think about how i will sit and listen to the rainfall and smell it in the air and it washes away the gathered filth from the world. i will just imagine im standing in the middle of it all and i can cleanse my soul.

i hope i will get to read another piece like this from you.

The rain doesn't come easily.
I liked this piece it gives a strange hope that things can move foreward despite all the bad we live to see and experience. I just wish the rain was more common. Well written.

This is a beautiful poem about just letting everything go,
and pushing on.
