The Blues

The Blues

A Poem by Kathrine Rethorn
"

All the different kinds of blues and their meaning

"
“I’m feeling blue.” She thought to her self.
But I'm not feeling the blue that bogs you down
I’m not sulking in a solemn haze of sobriety
I haven't been caught in melancholy’s malicious web
No
I’m feeling the blue hues of the loving morning sky
The determined azure dedicated to her practice
I am the empowered embodiment of the raging sea
The teal waves whispering calmly among the shore
I am a wall of light that protects
The pale and translucent that inspires
“I’m feeling blue,” She thought once more
And I’d prefer nothing else
