Final Episode: Light and Dark

This is it, the final episode of all. This is where the Reaper's journey ends. This is between The Reaper and Maxwell!"

Final Scene

 

The Reaper and Cali run into the mansion. They pass over the dead bodies of the Ghouls. Silvia stalks them around the halls. When the Reaper and Cali are at the ballroom, they stand and see Maxwell at the balcony. There are more Ghouls that come in. The Reaper pulls out his bow and arrow. He shoots all of them instantly. The Ghouls drop down with the arrows in them. More Ghouls start to come in but Cali whips them away. She then blasts each of them with her shotgun.

 

Maxwell: (clapping his hands) You have done well Reaper...and especially for you Cali! You killed all my ghouls!

 

Reaper: You are an abomination to the world Maxwell.

 

Maxwell: (in anger) Oh really...weren't the abominations the humans you thought?

 

Silvia grabs onto Cali and holds her up onto the ceiling.

 

Reaper: CALI....NNNNOOOOO!!!!!

 

Maxwell liquidifies himself into blood. The blood crawls onto the ceiling. Maxwell's voice can be heard.

 

Maxwell: I can change her Reaper. And she will live her happy life with us. After all she is a bounty hunter, and she hunts on humans. Why don't she come with us and hunt with us!

 

Cali: MISTER REAPER!!! DONT LISTEN TO THEM...I AINT NO BOUNTY HUNTER NO MORE!

 

The Reaper pulls out his pistol. The blood drops hard and reforms to Maxwell. The Reaper fires the pistol but the bullet hits Maxwell's shoulder. Silvia still holds onto Cali. After a few seconds, Maxwell finally hits the floor from the altitude. He pulls out his cane and has a fight with the Reaper as he has his machete. Silvia's laughing can be heard above. The Reaper gets beaten down by Maxwell. Maxwell's shoulder regenerates.

 

Maxwell: Come on Reaper, get up. and FIGHT ME!!

 

The Reaper gets up and swings his machete at Maxwell and slices him. Maxwell does not fight back. Everytime he gets cut in two, the body reforms itself and places the parts back together. When the Reaper gets tired, Maxwell's jacket is in shreds. Maxwell takes off his shades and hat. Maxwell is now almost shirtless. His muscles are clearly visible.

 

Maxwell: You ignorant fool Reaper...didn't I tell you that I was different from the Ghouls. I was the first, and I clearly am the Greater Ghoul!

 

Maxwell pokes the Cane onto the Reaper's metal armor multiple times. The Reaper gets knocked down. The Reaper's armor gets cracked. Maxwell smashes the Reaper's head which causes the Reaper's hat to fall.

 

Cali: COME ON MISTER...YOU GOTTA ASCEND FROM THE DARKNESS. DONT LET THAT MONSTER KILL YOU!

 

Maxwell grabs the Reaper and throws him across the large ballroom that they are in. The machete is dropped. Maxwell drops his cane and throws his own blood onto the Reaper's machete. The blade then cracks into pieces.

 

Maxwell: Get up Reaper....You don't like us, and we don't like you. But that don't mean that I dont want a fair fight with you! Come on...I want you strong, I want you angry, I want you a better human!

 

Maxwell's teeth start to form fangs. His eyes turn all red. He roars in his demonic sound. Maxwell charges at the Reaper. The Reaper jumps away and kicks Maxwell in the face. The Reaper punches Maxwell multiple times but Maxwell doesnt feel a thing. Maxwell grabs the Reaper's head and does a punch with the other arm sending him to another wall.

 

Maxwell: (in his demonic voice) YOU MURDERED MY BROTHER BILLY BOB!!! AND YOU KNOW HOW THAT FEEL BOY!

 

The Reaper gets up and kicks Maxwell in the face. This time Maxwell feels that. The Reaper punches Maxwell's abs and does an uppercut on Maxwell's chin. Maxwell then punches the Reaper onto the ground. He attempts to step on the Reaper but he rolls away. The Reaper leaps onto Maxwell's back but Maxwell jumps up and flips back to land on his back. The Reaper feels the heavy impact on his ribs. Maxwell gets off the ground which allows the Reaper to get up. When he gets up, Maxwell punches the Reaper's face. The Reaper blocks the kick and charges for the hip. He punches the hip and does a roundhouse kick on Maxwell's neck. There is a loud cracking sound on Maxwell's neck.

 

Maxwell: (laughing demonically) THATS MORE LIKE IT!

 

Cali: YEAH...MISTER REAPER....COME ON...STAND UP FOR YOURSELF!!

 

Maxwell then opens his palms up. His flesh in his palms start to open up. Blood splatters from the palms and he shoots blood onto the Reaper. He runs away and dodges them.

 

Maxwell: Run run run as fast as you can Reaper!

 

Maxwell does a big wave with his blood. He opens his chest for a big blast of blood facing the Reaper. He hides behind a fallen table. Maxwell's body explodes into blood. The Reaper gets out of cover and notices the room is shaking. The whole room appears to be painted by blood. The floors start to crack and the blood comes back in the center of the room. Maxwell sets his blood to orbit around his skeletal form. He is slowly changing back.

 

Maxwell: YOU CANNOT DESTROY WHAT IS ETERNAL REAPER....WE CLEARLY ARE THE SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST! YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A PIECE OF FLESH THAT WALKS BLINDLY TO BOTHER US LIKE AN INSECT!!! YOU SHOULD KNOW YOUR PLACE IN THE FOOD CHAIN REAPER!!

 

The Reaper still sees that Maxwell just reached his tissue form. The Reaper grabs Maxwell's cane and runs over the blood. The blood starts to pop up from the ground and try to take the Reaper down. Maxwell then starts to regenerate into his flesh. He still has his shredded jacket and pants on that are all covered in blood. The Reaper then throws the cane onto Maxwell's face but the blood flies towards the cane and pushes it away but The Reaper jumps and punches the chest until it creates a gash. Maxwell pushes him away and the Reaper grabs the Cane again. The Reaper throws his cape onto Maxwell's face. The Reaper throws the cane onto the cape which gives it more velocity to cover Maxwell's face. He then grabs the Cane again and whacks the face. Maxwell takes the cape off and puts his right hand onfront of the Reaper to spray blood on him. Blood starts to accumulate but the Reaper impales the cane through Maxwell's hand. The Reaper grabs the heart through the gash and rips it out of Maxwell's chest! Maxwell screams in demonic pain sounds as he is falling apart. His whole upper body is what remains. It shatters the whole mansion until it falls and collapses. Silvia falls down with Cali. Cali then escapes Silvia's hold and stabs Silvia on the head. The sun is up which lights up the devastated mansion. Maxwell's upperbody is lying down.

 

 

The Reaper and Cali are still alive. The Reaper stands onfront of Maxwell's body with his heart in his hand. He crushes the heart which causes blood to splatter.

 

Reaper: (in anger) YOU AND I ARE THE SAME THING!!!

 

Cali gets shocked by the Reaper's words.

 

Reaper: (crying) IT DOESNT MATTER IF WHAT WE KILL IS EVIL OR WHAT IS NOT...WE STILL ARE TRUE EVIL. KILLING MONSTERS DOES NOT MAKE ANYONE A BETTER PERSON! I AM A MONSTER INFLICTING PAIN ON THE OTHER!! WE BOTH PURSUE REVENGE AND END UP BEING REDUCED TO HELL! I DESCENDED INTO THE DARKNESS THAT I FEARED THAT I WOULD! For me...I killed many innocent people in a town to call your brother's name!

 

The Reaper kneals down covering his eyes

 

Reaper: WHY DID I FEAR THE DARKNESS WHEN I REALLY AM THE DARKNESS??!! WHY...WHY...WHY WAS I AFRAID?

 

Cali comes up to the Reaper and hugs him tightly. They hold eachother tightly. His tears trip onto her back.

 

Maxwell: (softly in his human voice) It was because you were afraid of yourself. But didnt i kill many people to call your name? I sent those ghouls and devoured many people to call your name....Reaper!

 

The Reaper then looks at Maxwell's bloody half body. Maxwells sees his tears.

 

Maxwell: Did you just cry Reaper? Oh boy....thats something we Ghouls never did for a long....long time!

 

Cali then stares at Maxwell as she holds the Reaper.

 

Maxwell: You see...we Ghouls don't feel passion towards other humans, and we just set aside lookin at them and eat them without feelings. Even amongst ourselves, we dont cry or feel for eachother. You should be lucky that now that I go away...you will live in eternal peace. But for me....I will burn in hell where I belong. You Reaper...you have a chance to redeem yourself..and to live along with your girl! I have to say, eight hundred years of hunger and a killing spree is a fool's paradise. The darkness is gonna bother you no more. Live, forgive, and forget Reaper. Come on Reaper...be happy. You did your long term goal after all. You saved the world from the unholy evil and me. I lost my battle, but you won Reaper...you did it....! You overcame that darkness we were puttin on you.

 

Cali and the Reaper smile at Maxwell. Maxwell starts to dry up. His skin blows away until it is half a skeleton. Maxwell tries to raise his right hand with the stick through it but it collapses into bits. The drawing of Justine blows towards the Reaper. Maxwell raises his other hand up.

 

Maxwell: show me that picture Reaper..would you?

 

The Reaper picks up the picture and shows it to Maxwell.

 

Maxwell: Dear my sweet Justine, I am sorry that we can't be together in the after life. You are already up there and I am going to the deepest pits of hell. Why don't you just be proud that you never became the Ghoul and that the devil never touched your heart. When he did that to me...he made me suffer and made me do horrible things. Your sweet heart would never forgive me for the creature I am. Now you go and live forever in peace......amen........your monster lovin husband......Sir Maxwell!

 

Reaper: (smiling) Amen

 

Cali: Amen.

 

Maxwell's skin then blows away. His skeleton turns into ashes. The Reaper then looks at Cali's face and then he kisses her in the lips without Cali expecting it. Cali dives back in for the second kiss on the Reaper's lips.

Author's Note

Thats all folks. The story ends here. Can you give your best review here for the story overall. How did you think of the characters and what else should be done? Which ones you cared for and which ones did you not? I know the whole episode was about the Reaper and Maxwell having their fight but how was it?

And how was the ending? I always wonder if readers would care about the Reaper's victory, or Maxwell's death.

I actually hated the last sentence "They kissed and make out" I thought the make out part wasnt needed at all. It pretty much ruined the romantic ending. Just end it with they kiss.

Over all I enjoyed this book. I think it needs more editing done to it and a new variety of words.

Is this a stage play or a screen play? Either way I feel it needs more descrption and direction (for the director and actors) to fully get whats going on. You dont need to write it as a book. Put the directions in parenthesis and italics. People will get the idea. Same goes for setting. Just italics it and put it parenthesis and tell us where they are and whats about to happen.

I did enjoy the idea of the book but the rest of it needs more revision.
