Episode 5: Daytime Horde

The Reaper and Cali face the Ghouls during daylight. The Greater Ghouls are also about to make a deal with the nearest town.

Scene 1

The Reaper and Cali are asleep in their cave. The fire is out and the cave is dark. The voices are back and haunt him. The Reaper opens one eye and looks up to listen to the laughing.

 

Voices: My oh my, look at whats changing!

 

Reaper: Nothing has changed!

 

Voices: But someone is about to descend into the darkness Reaper!

 

Reaper: (holds his hat) She is only a companion, and a partner!

 

Voices: (laughing) Really....is she that worthless to you Reaper....? I thought you were satisfied by living alone in the dark...but why did you take her? Why? Was it because of her skills...?

 

Reaper: (closing his eyes) Why would I want to tell you that?

 

Voices: FOOL....YOU DON'T HAVE TO! WE HAVE YOUR SOUL ALREADY!! EVEN OUR BILLY BOB SAID IT! THOSE WHO KILL A GREATER GHOUL WILL BE HAUNTED BY THE DARKNESS!!

 

Reaper: (in anger) Please...your screaming does not matter to me! You Ghouls can just go away and go straight to the very deep pits of hell where you belong.

 

Voices: We can't do that for you! But we can take you down, slowly, so you can feel the fires burn you. Everytime you kill a Ghoul, we come together as an entity and stalk you!

 

Reaper: Go on...I am listening, and you too Billy Bob, what do you have to say next?

 

Billy Bob: Well boy, I have to admit, you are growin up when you told your girl that story between us. Cali is a fine and beautiful young lady! I bet she tasty!

 

Reaper: Your hunger makes me sick!

 

Billy Bob: WELL DIDNT YOU SAY DAT YOU WERE SICK OF YOUR OWNSELF BOY! YOU KILLED THOSE PEOPLE TO CALL MAH NAME AND TOOK OUT MY HANDS AND MY MOUTH! My brothers will have his vengance! And besides...you probably aint done growin up yet since you can't listen to the old folks!

 

Reaper: I listen to no other human

 

Billy Bob: Why you refer to the other folks as "human" when you clearly are one? Don't be separating yourself from the food chain boy! And Besides, Cali has got something that she been hiding from you. You think she is that cute little puppy who dont know what she doin? Well you gotta figure that out yourself boy! She is the same as the rest of those humans!

 

The Voices dissapear with their laughing sounds. The sun rises up onfront of the Reaper's eyes. Cali wakes up peacefully and the Reaper turns to her.

 

Cali: Well good morning Mister Reaper. You got any breakfast?

 

The Reaper gets his bow and arrow. He gets out of the cave and sees a couple of vultures flying. He shoots one as they are on mid air. One falls down with the arrow through its neck.

 

Reaper: Yes, we do!

 

The scene transitions to a mountain. The four Greater Ghouls are there and they watch Cali and the Reaper roast the vulture from far distance.

 

Maxwell: I see, this is going to be fun, but I would rather do this at night!

 

Silvia: We can give them a taste of our power dear!

 

Stock: Come on, just because the moon not up don't mean that we can't go and kill.

 

Maxwell: But in the night, that is when the humans taste better. In the day time, they are too plain! Now lets watch these two dance! Silvia, it is time.

 

Silvia: GO FORTH GHOULS!!!!

 

A large horde of Ghouls skydive from the mountain onto the ground. They have their fangs and tounges exposed. The air flows past them and into their bloody mouthes. There seems to be one hundred of them. When they land, they sprint at incredible speed. The create alot of blur as they dash, The Reaper notices the Ghouls.

 

Cali: Ghouls!

 

Reaper: (mounts Banshee) GO! NOW!!

 

They both mount on their horses. They rush through the field and the bumpy rocks. The boulders serve as obstacles of the road. Ghouls dodge the boulders and jump over them. One tries to jump onto the Reaper but he shoots that ghoul in the face. The brains splatter. The number of Ghouls begin to increase. They run faster than Banshee and Stampede. Cali pulls out her whip and whips a Ghoul in the chest. It does not stop him. She wraps his neck and pulls it. The Ghoul then drags and gets road rashes. The Reaper pulls out his machete and slices each Ghoul around him. They lose their limbs and heads. One Ghoul gets whipped and he crashes into a boulder. The Ghouls then tackle each horse which causes them to collapse. The Reaper gets back up quicker than Cali. She still struggles to get up. The Reaper cuts up alot of the Ghouls. He does an overhead strike onto a Ghoul's scalp. The head splits in two and the blood splatters on the Reaper's hat. Cali sheilds herself with the whip and hits many Ghouls. The Reaper dashes to each of the Ghouls and dismembers them. He slices off one of their legs and kicks the face. The Reaper then stabs it in the neck. Cali then gets partially exhausted. The Reaper pulls out his bow and jams it into a Ghoul's skull. The Bow stays there as the blood keeps on spraying it. He then slices a Ghoul's left arm and torso in half. Another set of Ghouls come in dashing to take out the Reaper and Cali. Cali and the Reaper stand next to eachother with blood all over them.

 

Cali: They keep comin!

 

Reaper: They always come!

 

The Reaper pulls out his bow and arrow and rapidly fires it at them. Many arrows hit the Ghouls. The blood sprays from the shots. Many Ghouls drop down. The Reaper then pulls out his large pistol and shoots the remaining ones. Banshee and Stampede run over dead Ghoul bodies. They now stand next to the Reaper and Cali.

 

Scene 2

 

There is the town closeby. The Greater Ghouls are walking in the middle of town. They see the deputy walking out of the bar. Maxwell comes to him.

 

Maxwell: Hello there sir, the name is Maxwell, and here are my friends. We have somethin that you don't have.

 

Deputy: I got no business with you now. We talk later.

 

Maxwell grabs the Deputy on his throat and puts him on a wall.

 

Maxwell: But there be no later when I leave. And if I do ever leave...then you all will miss out on eternal life.

 

Maxwell's teeth start to form fangs. The Gunslingers point their guns at Maxwell. Xavier charges at the Gunslingers. They shoot back but Xavier is in his ghost form. He then passes by one third of them and they instantly lose their limbs, torso, and head. The remaining gunslingers try to shoot him but the bullets pass his ghost form. When they start to reload, Xavier turns to his normal form and slices most of the gunslingers with his claws. The last one lost his hand and runs away. Stock slams his hands on the ground. The Earth traps the last gunslinger's feet. Each hole clutches onto a foot and moves the opposite direction. The gunslinger is forced to do a split. There are boulders that form from the hole that cause him to hang upside down. Each boulder hangs onto a foot. Stock stands up and parts his hands. The Boulders part away from eachother as well. The Gunslinger screams in pain and gets ripped vertically in half. The blood splatter pours onto the ground.

 

Maxwell: Isn't it neat...the way we flow....? I bet you could use somethin Deputy. Now lets rule the night when the Reaper comes.

 

Deputy: What about the Reaper?

 

Maxwell: Well all you have to do is to take out the Reaper, and that girl of his! You got that.

 

Deputy: (in fear) yes sir.

 

Maxwell: Don't cower now Deputy, in fact, you don't have to fear nothin no more!

 

Maxwell puts his hand into the Deputy's chest. Maxwell's blood flows into the Deputy's heart. The Deputy screams in pain. The scene transitions to a river valley where Cali and the Reaper ride their horses.

 

Cali: See aint it a pretty place besides town.

 

Reaper: I don't judge by beauty.

 

Cali: Oh come on, you were raised by wolves. You should at least understand nature.

 

The Reaper then looks around him cautiosly.

 

Cali: Come on. I know some place with a nice view Mister Reaper

 

Cali turns Stampede onto another area. Reaper follows her as well.

 

Reaper: Cali where are you going?

 

The Reaper moves with her. They enter into a narrow area where the trail is bumpy. The Reaper starts to become more cautious. He starts to hear his own heartbeat pump. The Reaper then pulls out his gun and shoots the top. Cali then whips the Reaper's hand which disarms him. She then wraps him up and tries to pull him down. The Reaper doesn't move and still struggles to stay on his horse. Cali no longer smiles and closes her eyes as she is pulling her whip. A bunch of men come down holding onto the ropes from the top to lower themselves down.

 

Man: BIG TEDDY, IS THAT HIM?

 

Big Teddy: YEA WE GOT HIM! THANKS TO CALI!! HA HA.

 

Big Teddy is a man with a beard and a hat. He comes down and hits Banshee from the back. When the horse leaves. Reaper is now put down on the ground.

 

Big Teddy: So there Reaper, how you like it now to be under us? I'm so sorry but you see we have a business here. When there was a wanted man on the poster, you took him. And you kept on beatin the race. I don't care if you shot the whole town years ago, but you sure better fear us. That Cali girl did nothin but pay respect to that contract of ours and got you here! That sweetness and beauty does hurt...doesn't it!

 

The Reaper shows no fear and only keeps a straight face looking at Cali. Cali takes off her hat and looks down.

 

Big Teddy: HEY BOY YOU LISTENIN?

 

Big Teddy kicks the Reaper. He does not react to the kick. The men start to beat the Reaper up. Big Teddy comes to Cali with a large bag of coins.

 

Big Teddy: Here dolly, there is your prize!

 

Cali takes the money. She rides away from the beating. She looks at the Reaper but she cannot handle the beating.

It's not something that you would expect. I bet many of you reader would be dissapointed in this. But hey, it's doesnt end from here!

The quick change up and the fact that Cali is constantly keeping up this Charade for the chapters before, convincing the Reaper who judges everyone, I only think how could he not know. I think the ghouls are a good foe, but I can't help but think they remind me of Vampires.

Lol well the reason why i used ghouls instead is that vampires dont usually go under the sun, they have several weaknesses and they only drink blood. But the ghouls are beastly creatures that eat all flesh and meat of the human. I may have made up the greater ghouls but its just to make things different.

Now the thing with cali......i had to add a big issue or something climatic. Its a big change. The Reaper felt for it because he never socialized with anyone (not even getting a girlfriend). Cali is a people person so she has the advantage as the Reaper has the disadvantage of not being with anyone. But at the beginning, he tried not to fall for her flirting at the bar, but when he saw her beauty and was cared for by her, he started to get attached to her. Im sure other readers would go like "the reaper is stronger/ smarter than this!" but everybody has a weakness.

because Cali sent Reaper to Big Teddy. The "developing romance" probably is at its worse moment right here. Besides its a huge drop.
