Episode 3: Stalking Ghouls

The Reaper is still in danger. Cali begins to learn about what follows him.

Scene 1

The scene still takes place at the house. Cali and the Reaper are sitting in the kitchen. They are eating a meal on the table. The family does not speak; Cali just eats and stares at them. 

Cali: I think this is a nice and tasty meal you made.

Mother: (slightly flattered) thank you miss Cali.

Cali: What about you Mister Reaper?

Reaper: Taste don't matter to me. I only digest.

Cali: (frowning and staring at the Reaper) well I still think this taste good. (turning to the mother) What did you do to make this?

Father: I think that we should be goin to bed now. It's late.

Mother: yes...its midnight. I haven't got any rest.

Cali: yea, we haven't either. 

Mother: come on, let's show you and the Reaper your rooms.

The Reaper looks out the window and sees dark figures moving.

Reaper: Every one, stay in the house. Don't go out, no matter what!

He pulls out his machete and pistol. He puts on his hat and runs out of the house in the middle of the rain.

Cali: (pulling out her shotgun and whip) Mister Reaper...we got trouble don't we?

Reaper: Yes we do. 

The family is now upstairs in their rooms. The Reaper and Cali are outside of the house at the front. Cali sees the creatures dash behind the house

Cali: They at the back of the house!

Reaper: They are everywhere! 

The five year old son comes out with his teddy bear.

Son: Mister Reaper?

Reaper: GET BACK IN THE HOUSE!

A ghoul that is double the size of a human and has giant muscles grabs the son by his neck and throws him away. Cali gets shocked by its appearance. She shoots it on the arm with her shotgun. The Ghoul screams back at her while the wound regenerates.

Cali: ARE THOSE THINGS THE GREATER GHOULS?

Reaper: NO BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THAT WE SHOULD UNDERESTIMATE THEM! They are Brute Ghouls

The Reaper cuts off both of its arms and slices it's head in half vertically. The blood sprays on the front door. The head comes back together as the blood continues to spray. The Reaper then stabs its heart. It instantly disintegrates into bloody particles as it screams its last breath. After Cali observes the Brute Ghoul die, she notices three of them. Cali runs shoots one in the heart and it instantly disintegrates as well. She whips the second on in the face blinding it and shoots it the weak spot. She dodges the third one, but then the Reaper slices its left leg off. Cali then shoots the heart from the Brute Ghoul's back.  Another horde of them try to attack Cali and the Reaper. Cali blasts the brains off of one of them and the Reaper stabs it's heart. The Reaper pulls out his pistol and shoots it at their weak spots. A Brute Ghoul grabs the Reaper and tries to eat him but the Reaper shoots it through it's mouth with the blood spurting from the back of the head. Cali shoots the heart of that brute ghoul. Another one rams into Cali and hits her through the house. Cali screams from the pain of her left dislocated shoulder. Cali takes out her bowie knife from her back with the other arm and stabs the Brute Ghoul in the eye. She pulls it out as the blood sprays onto her face and executes it. More of them run into the house through all the windows and doors. They climb upstairs and take out the mother and father. They tear the father's limb one by one and they devour the mother alive. The Reaper rushes upstairs and dismembers each of the Brute Ghouls. He finishes them off. One Brute Ghoul regenerates his lost limbs. The Reaper turns around instantly and does one big slice that cuts it in two. The heart gets sliced as well. Cali hits her dislocated shoulder on a wall and puts it back in place as she screams in pain. She realizes that her nose is bleeding when she heads upstairs. She sees the bodies of the mother and father.

Cali: Oh dear god! What an unfortunate end for those friendly folks!

Reaper: That would be the same for the boy.

Cali: What....!

She looks at the window and sees the boy. His neck is twisted backwards and his limbs are gone.

Cali: but...they were just poor old folks, and they had a kid! Why did they have to face this? they dont deserve this hell!

Reaper: Now you know what people see and experience when they get closer to me. I am never alone. Only darkness knows what I do.

Cali: Mister.....those things may be tough and pack a bigger punch than a regular human being....but those things have a weakness. Right in the heart! I'm tired now! 

Reaper: Suppose you are worthy for facing those Ghouls. You figured out the weakness of the Brute Ghouls. Now go get some rest Cali.

Cali: No Mister....you need the rest. Let me take the first shift!

Scene 2

The time is now morning. They exit out of the house and are about to mount their horses. Cali has her mask and hat back on. The Reaper is about to mount his horse until when Cali asks him a question.

Cali: What is the name of your horse? She is quite pretty.

Reaper: Banshee.

Cali: Well that's a nice name...mine is Stampede.

They are on their horses and they ride out into the open. The scene then transitions to a mansion far away. The trees cover the sunlight which highlights the darkness. Inside there are four people in the hall walking. One of them walks with a cane wears dark glasses, fingerless gloves and wears a tall hat. His hair is long, black and not combed. His name is Maxwell. The second one is a girl named Silvia who wears a black and grey dress. Her eyeliner is bold and her hair is black. The third one is Xavier. He has wraps over his scalp. The two wrapping tapes are hanging from the back of his head that flow like hair. His whole body has wraps but his fingers are exposed with have finger nails. He also wears a black leather jacket covered in blood. The fourth one is a tall man with short black hair. He has big muscles, baggy pants and no shirt. His name is Stock. The four people walk on the balcony facing the dance room where many Ghouls are eating human body parts.

Maxwell: My fellow Ghouls. I am here for you all.

All the Ghouls stop eating and look at the four people.

Silvia: They all are very hungry.

Maxwell: (leaning close to kiss Silvia in the lips) Yes, indeed they are. (facing the ghouls) Now listen up. We all heard of the Reaper right? 

The Ghouls stand up and start making noises.

Maxwell: (letting his body loose) Oh no...why do you all worry. We are the Greater Ghouls, and you all are just regular Ghouls. But if all of you stand together and work together....we can take that Reaper out and we can devour his soul! I mean, the Greater Ghoul has a gift that you don't have. But I bet you are stronger when you are just determined for food.

Stock shifts the earth parts around him without touching them. He uses it to slowly lower him on the floor. Xavier makes a grunt sound and turns translucent. His skin turns clear and see through. Purple light lights up around him. His skeleton appears under the transparent and clear skin. He runs through the wall and onto the other side without interfering with it's natural state. Silvia flies around the dance room and laughs in joy. Maxwell turns his whole body into a bloody structure and collapses into the floor. The blood drips down into the ball room. Maxwell reforms from the blood on the dance room. Xavier appears on the dance room by a wall. He apparently can go to another room without using the door.

Stock: Now the Reaper thinks he hunts us, but the truth is that we are really hunting him. We are a family, and a human does not simply mess with a family like us!

Silvia: Well we all know what happened to Billy Bob. Are we all going to just devour random human beings like simple minded monsters or are we going to SHOW THE WORLD THAT WE ARE MORE THAN HUNGRY GHOULS! 

Maxwell: That is right Silvia....my love. But Billy Bob was my brother. And NO ONE MESSES WITH MY BROTHER AND GETS AWAY WITH IT! THAT REAPER SHALL FACE HIS DOOM!

Xavier stands folding his arms. The camera zooms to his face as Maxwell speaks.

Maxwell: WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO AVENGE OUR BROTHER! WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO DEFY GOD, AND WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO DEVOUR THE REAPER! HE IS NOTHING BUT AN EMPTY SHELL THAT DOESN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT HE IS DOING OR WHY HE IS SEARCHING FOR US! COME ON, you all use to be human but did you all love that?

Ghoul: NO!! NEVER!

Maxwell: Well we all hated that. Humans miss out on eating themselves except for the cannibals. But cannibals can't live forever. And who cares about money, when there is food walking around, and willing to scream in pain to give us the wonderful melody of massacre. But the Reaper declared war on us by taking the life of Billy Bob several years ago! HE IS TRYING TO MAKE HIM SELF THE SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST BUT WE REALLY HAVE THE ABILITY TO END HIS EXISTENCE!

The ghouls cheer and are manipulated by Maxwell's speech. Maxwell laughs wildly and spins his cane around. Silvia and Stock laugh along with Maxwell but Xavier stands still and shows no emotion. He stares at the crowd.

Maxwell: But now that he has a human girl walking along with him, this is going to be a lot more fun than I expected. 

He sprays his own blood with his wrists and it floats around him. The blood orbits around Maxwell's body. 

Silvia: (moaning) oh that Reaper and his girl, they are soooo alike! I don't know which one is prettier than the other. But I can understand...that the Reaper will value her. (she laughs softly)

Xavier disappears into thin air as Maxwell liquidifies into blood and moves away. Silvia flies away as Stock immerses himself underground and digs himself under.

This is the first time you get a taste of the Greater Ghouls. So what can you predict from here? I will get to The Reaper's story later on

Good chapter, the taste of the grater ghouls gives it more edge, the thing I would like to see would be to find out who this Billy Bob was, and how the Reaper killed him. Now in the next few episodes I'm hoping to see more of the greater ghouls, probably taking one out every episode, or something similar, it's keeping me reading.

That is a sad ending to scene one but in a way it was neccary to complely show what happens around reaper
i believe that scene two was helpful to understanding what is going on and i also thought it was good too...
i believe that in the next chapter they will have an all out attack on them.
but then again i have read up to episode 6 lol

yeah, he can barely live at peace during scene 1, but scene 2 just foreshadows and introduces the Greater Ghouls including Maxwell

I like this a lot, but I do have one concern. On the big action scene in the first half, you repeated "right in the heart" about fifteen times in a row. Now, i know that the brute ghoul's weakness is their heart, but you might want want to either explain how Cali and Reaper kill them in different ways (such as punctured a lung, or tore off their head, or blood exploded from a major arterie) or make them have at least one other weakness. Other than that, I liked it a lot and I think that maybe in the next chapter, they will encounter a greater ghoul.

oh don't worry they will encounter a greater ghoul, but in a couple of episodes later...yes! I reduced the amount of times I said right in the heart before more reader would think I am a broken record. lol ;)
