Episode 1: Bounty Hunting

The Reaper searches for a wanted man, but Cali wants that man too. The wanted man does not appear what he seems to be.

Scene 1

 

The scene takes place at the midwest. There is a town that appears to be very busy. A long black haired man wears a large black hat on his head, and black robes and metal on his body. He rides on a black horse. The Reaper comes into the town. He jumps off the horse and walks past the people. The civilians stare at him and stop what they are doing. A civillian moves her children away. Everybody makes room for him as he walks through the middle of the road. The man does not mind all the fear that the people are hiding. He decides to turn into the closest bar. The scene transitions to the bar. A woman is sitting down and drinking her order. She wears a cowboy hat and a white mask that covers her eyes. She has long blond hair and a small red scarf around her neck. A group of four gunslingers talk really loud at their table.

 

Gunslinger 1: Okay okay, so you tellin me that this "Reaper" is the number one in the world?

 

Gunslinger 2: Yes...I believe so, that's what rumor says!

 

Gunslinger 3: Now you know dat I don't believe in those rumors boy!

 

Gunslinger 2: But we gotta take em down or we look bad....REAL BAD!!!

 

Gunslinger 4: (in anxiety) Yea boss.... Come on

 

Gunslinger 1: (laughing) None of us is goin down son. Why you say dat?! You glass half empty or somethin? Besides whether that Reaper is the number one or just a dime a dozen, I'll show em whose boss!

 

The woman begins to get involved with their conversation

 

Cali: Now now.... you know the Reaper has captured the hardcore wanted people...right?

 

Gunslinger 1: Who said you were in this girl?

 

When the man walks in the bar, the fun and the music that plays in the bar starts to become silent. Cali realizes the lack of music and turns to the man. She is slightly surprised by his appearance. The man continues to walk through the bar and he turns to the bartender.

 

Gunslinger 2: (in fear) That...that....that man......HE IS THE REAPER!!

 

Gunslinger 1: YOU PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER BOY!! I'LL SHOW HIM.

 

Gunslinger 1 pulls out his pistol. The man as known as the Reaper pulls out his machete and decapitates the gunslinger. The blood sprays everywhere from the body. The remaining gunslingers' reflexes force them to pull out their guns. The second gunslinger loses his arms and his scalp in a second. The third gets sliced in the jugular and stabbed in the chest. The fourth one drops his gun. The Reaper pulls out his pistol, which has a long extended barrel that is double the length of the average pistol. The fourth one grabs the gun he dropped but gets shot in his hand by the Reapers pistol. The little and the ring finger are missing from the bloody hand. The last gunslinger is on the ground screaming in pain. The Reaper grabs his other hand. He doesn't stare at the crying gunslinger's face at all, he just looks into blank space.

 

Gunslinger 4: YOU SHOT MAH FINGERS OFF...! How in the hell did you do dat?

 

Reaper: (still looking into blank space) That does not matter. Where is Crawiling Calvin?

 

Gunslinger 4: What...the wanted man?

 

The Reaper crushes the hand. The Gunslinger screams. Cali is stunned by the action that occured.

 

Reaper: Please.... don't waste my time.

 

Gunslinger 4: I DONT KNOW I DONT KNOW PLEASE...LET ME GO...IN THE NAME OF THE LORD...PLEASE!!

 

The Reaper then stares at his face.

 

Gunslinger 4: STOP LOOKING AT ME... I HONESTLY DON'T KNOW...WE WERE LOOKING FOR HIM AS WELL! FOR THE DAMN REWARD! YOU CAN TAKE IT ALL, I WONT INTEFERE!

 

Reaper: Well you wouldn't want to anyway if you value your own life.

 

The Reaper lets the Gunslinger go. The gunslinger runs away with his bloody hands together. The Reaper sits in the main booth where the bartender is. The bartender pours the drink into the Reaper's cup nervously. Cali moves up closer to the Reaper.

 

Cali: (stroking her hair) Hey there Reaper....I really liked what you did dere!

 

The Reaper ignores her. Cali still tries to continue to flirt by lifting her hat up.

 

Cali: (in a playful tone) Don't you people love to see how nice, rich, and strong you guys are? You know...boastin?

 

Reaper: Boasting is bad taste. And why do you wish to use that voice and tone on me? That only decieves simple minded people.

 

Cali is slightly suprised that he asked that question.

 

Cali: Well mister, I hope you just don't get in mah way for capturing Crawlin Calvin. But if you dare to get in mah way, then I Kill you!

 

Cali walks away and the Reaper turns his head at her.

 

Bartender: I heard alot about how you are the number one and the top of the world, but I would still not want to get in Cali's way.

 

Reaper: She hasn't seen what I seen and she would be walking to her death.

 

Scene 2

 

It is night time, and Cali sneaks in the alley. A mysterious man dashes through the night. A couple of other figures do likewise. Cali has her whip on her left hand and her shotgun on her right hand. She is aware that she is being watched. The mysterious man appears behind her. He is Crawling Calvin.

 

Crawling Calvin: Hello there young woman.

 

Cali tries to whip Crawling Calvin but he dissapears in a second. Cali is suprised by the abscence of Crawling Calvin.

 

Crawling Calvin: (on her left side) Over here.

 

Cali fires her shotgun on his side but he dissapears laughing. The shotgun appears to be lever action and she reloads it by one hand. She is confused and is frightened by Crawling Calvin's speed. The other people surround Cali.

 

Crawling Calvin: So tell me beautiful one, who did you talk to in that bar?

 

Cali gets jumped by the other people. She evades in the middle of the road. One of them tackles her down. Crawling Calvin appears to be a bald man with his eyes all red. His teeth are all shaprened. The other people begin to change their form. Their skin texture begins to harden and the muscles grow. Cali looks up at Crawling Calvin.

 

Crawling Calvin: Listen to the music that will play.

 

The people run into the houses and shops. They devour the civillians and create destruction in the houses. Women and children scream in pain. The men get torn apart by the demonic people. Cali listens to the screaming people and she appears to feel sympathy for the people.

 

Crawling Calvin: Now I will continue this melody if you don't tell me who you spoke with.

 

An arrow gets shot through Crawling Calvin's shoulder. The blood spurts from both ends. He breaks the arrow in two and pulls it off. He turns around and sees the Reaper with the bow and arrow.

 

Crawling Calvin: SO ITS YOU AFTER ALL...REAPER! THIS WOMAN THOUGHT SHE COULD TAKE ME OUT SINGLE HANDED!! BUT SHE IS JUST A LONELY PUP WALKING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT LIKE IF SHE HAD NO EXPIERENCE!

 

Crawling Calvin runs up to a house and climbs around it. He hangs upside down from a window and laughs at the Reaper. The Reaper shoots the other demonic people that come to him. He then pulls out his machete and dismembers the demonic people one by one. The Reaper then fires at him again but he disappears. He then appears to be crawling on the roof of the bar. He jumps down and fights the Reaper hand to hand. The Reaper pulls out his bow again and fires at Crawling Calvin. He then takes out his machete and swings it at him. Crawling Calvin then kicks the Reaper in the chest and the Reaper falls down. Crawling Calvin dashes to him but the Reaper pulls out his pistol and shoots his legs. Crawling Calvin screams in a loud demonic sound as he lies down. The Reaper stabs his stomach. When he takes the machete off of the stomach, intestines come out. 

 

Crawling Calvin: (dripping blood from his mouth) You...sir....are one hell of a hunter! I can't believe you took me out! We...Ghouls are suppose to be the ones...who rule the world!

 

Reaper: The Greater Ghouls...where are they?

 

Crawling Calvin: Ain't I a Greater Ghoul?

 

Reaper: (punches Crawling Calvin's face) don't play games with me. A Greater Ghoul does not merely have that raw strength and speed. It takes more effort than this.

 

Crawling Calvin: I don't know, I am not with them....I am just a loner running around and feasting on these people.

 

The Reaper digs his fingers into Crawling Calvin's chest and rips it open. The ribs are exposed and the blood gets on the Reaper. As Crawling Calvin screams in heavy pain, the Reaper's face reflects his rage and anger. Blood splatters onto his serious face.

 

Crawling Calvin: I AM SERIOUS!! I DON'T KNOW WHERE...

 

The Reaper grabs the pumping heart and crushes it. Cali sees the Reaper with Crawling Calvin's body.

 

Cali: What in the hell were those things?

 

Reaper: (turning around and walking to Cali) Ghouls..... They choose to become that savage kind and feast on the mortals.

 

Cali: Well...well that's something we never heard of.

 

Reaper: No other man and women should learn about their existence. Do not follow me Cali. Live that life as the average bounty hunter and only prey on those ammature wanted men like you always do. (he turns around the opposite direction) I hunt the forbidden evil.

 

Cali: WAIT.... REAPER!!!

 

The Reaper slowly walks away as Cali rushes towards him.

This was really good. It does need some work though. I usually don't like western type stories but this one was cool and different. Great job :)

The idea is certainly interesting, has a sort of Jonah Hex feel to it. I would say that it needs work though. Taylor H's review summed up pretty much perfectly the typos that you had, and you might want to consider varying your vocab a little. That fight with the Ghouls had the word demonic used way too much considering the small amount of space it takes up.
Reaper seems a cool character. The use of a machete in a wild west type setting was a bit surprising, but not a bad one. I would say at this stage he seems a bit overpowered, but then it is only the first chapter and his complete domination did make for a dramatic cold opening.
Cali was less interesting. There wasn't really much there to indicate that she was actually any good as a bounty hunter. All we see her do is flirt with Reaper, then get completely outnumbered by the guy she was trying to take out. You might have been better off having her start the fight with the gunslingers and do really well, only for Reaper to take out the last guy. That way your audience gets to see first hand what she can do, before she gets the stuffing beaten out of her and the threat seems magnified.

Really cool. I would say this story has different characteristicts than old western stories like this. But still does use the old fasion western set up. I could see the events and hear the Reaper's voice as he spoke.

Nice Job. I liked the way you opened each scene. It was very descriptive outside of the dialogue. I could actually picture the events in my head. This was exciting and fun and different from anything else I have read before. You may have real potential. Nice job :)

Having only read the first chapter as of yet I do believe these 'Ghoul' characters may become an interesting foe. As for you two characters, Reaper seems as demonic as the Ghouls with his blood thirst, and Cali? The sweet innocent Cali trying to become a bounty hunter herself, not a bad choice in companion, a good way to get your lead into a lot of trouble, I will keep reading but as for now, bed time, haha.

I think they'd be adorable together :) but not the point, i know. So, I like Reaper, and I like Cali, but my only question is, is Reaper human himself? It seems like he could be, but it also seems like he could be inhuman.
