My first try at writing a poem, so let me know what you think!

I have no reason to complain

Everything’s going at its own pace

There’s just this one thing I can’t contain

And that’s this uncontrollable feeling when I see your face

 

Even though I see you almost every day

And you might not have the slightest clue

There’s just this one thing I can’t say

And that’s how badly I’d like to wake up next to you

 

It’s easy to say I need to let you go

They don’t see how we could shine

There’s just this one thing that I do know

And that’s how you’ll never be mine

 

I remember when you let go of my hand

And despite realizing that you couldn’t stay

There’s just this one thing that I’ll never understand

And that’s why God needed to take you away
