My First Failed Kiss

My First Failed Kiss

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

I came back with my first failed kiss.

I plunged into the light

to find a bit of dead time.

Promise me

that what's left of us

will be just the black flower

of loneliness.

Admit a sin you didn't commit

because tears dictate it.

Do not avoid fear, it will return

with the first summer sky.

Don't write

another poem, explain to me

what love is,

because I slowly stop believing

in the future.

Come closer to my desires,

feel my unfinished touch on your skin.

Paint black my dreams,

hug my imaginary tears.
