The Other Side of the Sun

The Other Side of the Sun

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

You are a happy journey
without return.
The poor and sentenced to life
imprisonment believe in
your deaf tears.

You are suffering, you are the story
told by tired lips.
It's worth it for you to lose
a few heavy sighs along the way.

I see the God in you with whom
you can drink a cup of black coffee.
Your dreams of what will come back
are painful. I fell in love with
your sorrow, your delusions
that I didn't deserve.

Show me the other side
of the Sun, share the light
stolen on the starry morning.
Another twilight fades in me,
a tame melancholy has settled in
the corner of my heart.
