My Best Dreams

My Best Dreams

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

I sold you my final tear.
I have returned my best dreams
to an orphanage.
Can you see the reflection
of your heart in my eyes?
Do you feel the taste of spring sky?

The skin forgot silence of
your kisses, the scream of lonely hands.
A long-lived dream crashed to
the ground, the only fawn star
shattered against the pavement.

Before I feel the distance
of your words in my soul,
before life leaves my body,
I will have embraced the purple twilight,
I will have lent to God
my most beautiful desire.

Beautifully expressed, I was taken in by a dream of words. Loved it. ;-}
