The Delusion

The Delusion

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

You touch my tears,

you drink the smile from

my dreams.

You are a delusion

that my thoughts may touch.

I need your shadow again,

I want your dead tears.

I look into the mirror

that reflects your face,

the face of time.

Today the star is shining

for both you and me.

I am at the lake which has been

your covenant since

childhood.

I sink my breath

in your blond hair,

savoring the softness of your lips

carved in marble.

And when our fantasies

come together again,

when our memories find

a common source,

I will remain in your heart,

which does not know

when I will die.
