This Puzzle

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

I don't want to dream

despite the silence

that won't return.

I fear forbidden thoughts

in which there is so little God,

so little free will.

I would find the seed

of your fear if the world

were a little more tame.

Don't feed me the needles

of the stars, don't bring me

the missing pieces

of this puzzle.

Since pain became an oath

to the innocent and the poor,

your Sun has risen

in the wrong sky.

My heart would like to fly

to the other side of the Moon,

but life has become

an obstacle to salvation.
