The Blue Flower of Hatred

The Blue Flower of Hatred

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

I am trapped amid fading tears,
I am begging you
for one green morning
that will give me a smile
instead of silence.

I am in love with your dreams,
I adore faith in insane loneliness.
Wanting to follow
a separate path, I knocked on
the wrong window.

I was deprived of soft, comfortable words.
I gaze greedily at your melancholy,
which needs no rest,
no crying for tears.

I am dying in your disobedient breath
again, I am demanding a life
again that will give shadows
instead of light.

It's time to wake up
at the wrong second,
it's time to break into the heart
of the impostor who nurtures
the blue flower of hatred.
