The Scarlet Horizon

The Scarlet Horizon

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

Ever since I stopped thinking
about love, a heartfelt wound
has blossomed in me,
inflicted on me by your jealous touch.

Ever since I woke up
among fading stars,
the sun broke into my shadow,
taught me to go against
unfulfilled tears.

The first days of your death
were troubled.
I have sinned by staring at the source
of your conscience,
satisfying the dreams
that I have searched for so long.

The sun rose on the scarlet horizon,
it gave my heart a little shadow.
I am dying bent over the blank page
of your promises.

I die, staring at the silence of your lies.
I don't wanna live
since you're not in my mirror.

This is sad, the kind that comes with death. It is well written and full of visual emotion, some very raw.
