The First Summer Scream

The First Summer Scream

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

Do not be afraid of the light
brought by cursed hands.
Do not be afraid of the shadows,
they are an escape for those
who have believed in the unknown.

I am in love with your
forbidden dreams, hanging on the cross
of my own dreams and desires.
I try to escape your natural evil,
but mercy needs too much heart,
too many delusions.

The world is beautiful when I look
at it through my tears.
I will love life if it brings me
one more dream dedicated to you.
Still waiting for
the first summer scream.

I'm looking for lips that will whisper
a lost prayer.
When I feel your loneliness, I want
to fall asleep on a desert island.
