The Most Beautiful Tear Died

The Most Beautiful Tear Died

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

Please, God! Make the world stop,
grin greedily.
Does this life, which is late
for its birthday,
have a chance to break away
from the sandy sky?
Will fate find any light in your tears?
Will time pass without any footprints
on the thin skin of the heart?

I can't hear the stars
freshly gathered by the morning.
To witness the firstborn sunset,
I plunge into an unnamed past.
Our dreams do not care
about silence,
our cry lacks empathy and loss.
Feel the taste of my heart,
admit to the perceptions in which
I fall asleep to the test.

Eternity is dying in me, poisoned by
an inedible hope, a hateful word.
Freedom that runs away from the return
of faith fades away.
Before you see the light,
overcome the whisper, free yourself
from the selfish shadow.
My last lie froze,
the most beautiful tear died.
