Never Admit to a Kiss

Never Admit to a Kiss

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

I recognized the soothing scent
of the sun.
I felt the sweet taste
of stray tears.
Even though I stroked the sky,
even though I lost this bad game
once again, I will never change
my truth, never admit to a kiss.

A snow-white night has lived in me,
the morning has settled in my heart.
The dawn that brings innocent desires
instead of scarlet tears.

Untamed thoughts queue for
dried bread.
I know that tomorrow will soon be over,
that a wasteful future will bloom
greedily. I've decided to find
real blood, but your skin is still
thin and tight.

Let us take the first step
among nameless planets,
among prayers that no one deserves.
