Your Emerald Eyes

Your Emerald Eyes

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

Among the tired memories
I found a tear that is a memento
of your beautiful death.
When you feel the familiar rustling
in your heart, give the hand
of my soul, let silence bloom
on the grave of love.

The lonely wind wanders around
dead ends, your naive game
is a test of humanity.
Released from your intrusive thoughts,
I match my heart to the shape
of your hands,
I match time with the scream
that tears your conscience.

Before dusk returns, I will close
your emerald eyes,
open your virgin mouth
to pour passion into it,
to share my greatest promises with you.
Desire is burning under our lids.

Hands take refuge in tenderness.
And when the night is gone,
the dawn will know
our betrayed thoughts.
