I'll Never Understand

I'll Never Understand

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

Too many mornings
have died in me.
Light was lost amid darkness
in the soul.
I am reconciled with my fate,
the night will wait before
I glue my words together
and promise that this is just a life
that should not be ashamed of.

Can I help you tame
your dreams?
Do you need my tears
to quench your thirst?
Memories came back from
a distant world,
hid behind your eyelids,
in a chink in your conscience.

I forgot again how long it takes
for the future to return.
I guess I'll never understand
your body.
