I Want to Find the Door

I Want to Find the Door

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

I crossed an impassive line
between life and freedom.
My green soul finally got rid of
the weight of the holy sky.

I want to find a door
that will lead me to the waiting room
in paradise.
My silence seeks its beginning,
my cry pleads for a resurrection.
Before you poison yourself
with your own breath,
paint a portrait of hope
on the wall.

Loneliness is forbidden from
entering the future.
Show me your tears
and I will tell you the story
of your fear.
Stop simulating that the morning
looks good in the dying stars.

God had his name day yesterday.
Masked pain is the antidote
to the void that has ripped apart
a stained heart.
