A Poor Delusion

A Poor Delusion

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

I apologize for all dreams
in which you gently touched
my thoughts and kissed
the words dispassionately.

I apologize to you for the future
that does not belong to me,
which is just a poor delusion,
a supposition with no preambule
and no ending.

You painted my heart blue,
I reach with my head for the clouds,
as pink as cotton candy.
The Sun is a lemon lollipop
I got for my conscience check.

I have your soul in my pocket,
I am not afraid of stars,
I am not afraid of thorny shadows.
I know how to live
so that everyone has the right
to hope, to personal memories,
to private dreams.
