More Beautiful World

More Beautiful World

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

My hope, trapped in your words,

is fading away.

Silence, modeled on humanity,

does not ask for tomorrow,

it does not beg for one honest thought.

From the very beginning, I wanted

to find a smile that would match

my oversized lips.

The wind rustles in my head,

love seeps through my blood

into my heart.

You are playing in sinless dying again,

your faith in the unknown

is running out again.

All my desires fell silent,

my dreams lost their way to my solitude.

I wish I could wake up

in your body, but the pain was faster as usual.

My remorse is gone.

I forgot what language people speak.

The last lighthouse has gone out,

I can't see the way

that would lead me to

a more beautiful world.
