The Crimson Star

The Crimson Star

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

I found a source of light

in your premature memories.

I have found the source of faith

where only the turbulent waves

of the ocean can be seen,

which is the blood of the distressed,

the blood of the innocent.

Take the ultimate purple star

off the cracked sky so she can share

her forbidden dreams with you.

I am trying to find the one

in my thoughts that does not fit the puzzle.

I am cold, winter is born in my heart,

it is snowing in my soul.

Once again I am wandering

between terrified thoughts,

I am walking again along the sidewalk,

on which you can still see

fresh traces of childhood dreams.

I immerse myself in a modern dream,

amidst fulfilled wishes, between

the window and the door.

I discover previously unknown areas

of life, I find wastelands

that are not affected by a lost morning,

for which none of the local smiles fit.

Dressed in a festive shroud,

in a whisper of tame wind,

I go to the edge of your lips,

from where I can see your unfulfilled hopes,

your lost future.

Don't make me live on my knees,

I'd rather learn life

from the beginning.

A disembodied tear stuck under

my eyelid.

Tired of the night, she goes to sleep.
