Another Second

Another Second

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

There is not enough light in us
to believe in the shadows.
I don't believe in the pain
that is the source of a smile.

Before you let me trust
the unknown, before love slips through
my fingers, dress your best
time, best fear.

Another resurrected second
resounds in us.
We are smothered by solemn remorse.
How to believe in death?
Nobody knows how to start crying.

On your first birthday,
I wish you a painless endlessness.
Hope broke down
the door to my solitude.

It was then that I understood
why the distance passed us
by with a smile
on our crooked lips.

Ookayy... This is... A little beyond me I guess. The only I understand is Hope broke down the door to my solitude.
I usually figure it out. But this time, you've got the old drifter stymied. Random thoughts perhaps?
