No Escape

No Escape

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

You betrayed my dreams,
you abandoned my desires.
You are there to scare the last bird
of my lost love.

You fed me the salt of your tears
this morning.
I delight in the light
that knows no escape.

With the rest of my blood
I am writing this will, this unread book
of the past.
You dance, although God envies
your sense of rhythm,
even though dawn has usurped
the wrong sky.

Midnight has awakened in us,
midnight, which will tear our
common thoughts, our bodies
glued with lust, our rudely awakened souls.

Your blue hand is stealing
the forbidden fruit
from the stone garden again.
It hurts so much to think of the stars
trying to regain their places
in my sky.

"Midnight has awakened in us..."
The dark night if the soul seemingly has no end. But day will always follow night. One day, the right love will find us all.
